P5
Our group started by getting some test sounds of background noise and going through the script. We edited the script and added camera shots as ideas of what we could do. We looked at different audio sounds we could use such as ambiance and music, this would help us later on.
We then began to shoot B-role of our character as he made his way to the garage where the main story would be set. we also recorded sounds the following day of cars going past, foot steps on different ground and general background noise.
When it came to actual filming, our first job was to set p the lighting and camera. The camera was set up for the first shot and we then determined how the shot was going to be lit up. Unfortunately, we were only able to use one camera as the other did not have a working battery. when filming the shots, we placed the sound recorder near the actor so we could get better audio of him talking (Unfortunately this footage was lost so we had to use what was recorded on the camera)
When recording we always referred to the story board and shot sheet we produced earlier on, keeping them and the script handy for reference throughout shooting.
Once the filming was finished, we needed to get some extra sounds such as a door slamming and background sound. We did this in a spare classroom, and used a metal draw and slammed it shut.
When editing, I used a lot of downloaded MP3 files of ambience and lights buzzing as the sound we had for that was not great. I also downloaded music to add to the scenes and would fade in and out whenever the character would speak.
