SFX Production Job Roles - Preferences.
1.
Sound recordist:
I believe I am suitable for being a sound recordist because I am able to work well in a team. I have recorded and edited sound before so I have some knowledge of the job. I am good at following instructions carefully and willingly taking criticism. I can work well in a team and independently. I think I should get this role as it would give me a better understanding of the role and would help prepare me for future roles. Recording sound is something I am interested in because it allows me to get a view of what happen am interested in as it allows me to see what is going on behind the camera. This is my preferred role.
2.
Gaffer:
I think I would be good at being a gaffer because I have become interested with working with light as it plays a big role in photography. I take photography as a subject and the deliberate placement of light has a big part to play when considering colour, perspective, brightness and contrast. I have a small insight into lighting as my brother is a lighting engineer. I know that lighting is important as it sets the mood of the scene and It is needed for the viewers to be able to discern all the important elements in the frame. Although this aspect is good for me to learn I am already being taught about it in another subject so I would prefer to focus on something new.
3.
Camera operator:
I have previously worked with various cameras. I have filmed short scenes and take photography. I am able to frame and compose shots and this is an important aspect for being a camera operator. through my photography I would be able to bring creativity to this role. I have good attention to detail I am flexible in changing my work to adapt to what everyone wants and I am patient. In order to operate a camera you need to have in mind what the audience will be expecting and hoping to see from your film. And need to be adaptable to what the film producer wants.
